An HTC-made device bearing the model number 2Q4R400 that’s believed to be the rumored HTC Ocean Harmony was recently certified in China, having received the 3C Certificate earlier this month. The documentation doesn’t reveal much about the device, save for the fact that it supports Quick Charge 3.0, thus confirming that the handset will be powered by one of Qualcomm’s newer Snapdragon chips.According to previous rumors, the HTC Ocean Harmony will sport a 5.99-inch Super LCD panel with an FHD+ resolution of 2,160 by 1,080 pixels amounting to a tall aspect ratio of 18:9, i.e. 2:1. HTC already commercialized this particular image format with the HTC U11 Plus launched earlier this fall but has yet to release such a device meant to compete in the mid-range segment of the smartphone market. Given how the U11 Life started retailing only recently and the HTC Ocean Harmony is said to be debuting before the end of the year, HTC’s last 2017 handset may not end up being globally available. The device appears to be set for a launch in China, as suggested by its newly acquired certificate, but HTC may opt against a wider release so as to avoid a scenario in which it has two similar phones competing against each other. |
